In the 1980’s when I went to dental school, porcelain crowns were made with an interior metal framework to strengthen the porcelain. Unfortunately, the metal made the porcelain darker and more dull. It didn’t reflect light like a living tooth.
Then, in the early 1990’s, I helped bring all-porcelain crowns to Lubbock. Eliminating the metal framework made porcelain crowns look like real, luminous teeth.
Emax was a further improvement in the early 2000s for beautiful crown restorations, but it lacked the strength for use on back teeth.
Today, Grimes Dentistry uses various forms of Zirconia. Our newest crowns have a beautiful look and unbelievable strength. They’re not only gorgeous; they’re virtually indestructible.
Grimes Dentistry patients love Zirconia Aidite, which is 3X stronger than Bonded Emax, and just as beautiful. Our new zirconia crowns don’t chip or delaminate. They have the clarity and lifelike appearance of real teeth.
Grimes Dentistry crowns come with a warranty. Depending on the treatment option you choose, these can be the last crowns you pay for. Beauty and strength – that’s what everyone wants, and what we, at Grimes Dentistry can provide!
