Nightlase for Snoring in Lubbock TX
If you suffer from sleep apnea, a disorder that involves interrupted breathing patterns while you sleep or snoring, we can help. We encourage you to make an appointment with our sleep apnea specialists, Dr. Grimes or Dr. Mathur, for an evaluation where we screen for any symptoms, diagnose, and provide you with a treatment plan which may include consultations with our partner physicians if needed.
As frontrunners in treating snoring and sleep apnea, we are excited to offer a cutting-edge laser treatment that moves beyond appliance therapy and traditional sleep apnea treatment options: Nightlase.
Nightlase is a proven, non-invasive treatment we perform using our Fotona Lightwalker Erbium:YAG and Nd: Yag lasers to widen the airway to reduce snoring and sleep apnea. It works by restructuring collagen, which tightens and opens the airway.
During treatment, our laser will gently warm the soft palate and tongue. Patients will feel a warm sensation like drinking warm tea. Typically patients need three treatments, though many report no snoring after the first treatment. Results can last up to a year before retreatment is necessary.
A recent study cited in the “Journal of Laser and Health Academy” showed the following for patients who were treated:
- 57% significant or excellent improvement
- 74% positive response to treatment
- 95% stated some improvement
Grimes Dentistry is the only medical office between Ft. Worth and Albuquerque offering this procedure. Our fee is half what other offices charge. Schedule your consultation to find out of Nightlase is right for you.

What is Nightlase?
Nightlase is a simple “walk-in, walk-out” procedure that provides immediate results. Non-invasive, safe, and patient-friendly, Nightlase is an intra-oral treatment in which we use multiple laser models that warm your soft palate and tongue without damaging them to penetrate the tissue, causing it to tighten, which leads to a reduction in the sound of snoring and the effects of sleep apnea.
The entire process is painless, so no anesthesia is needed, and our patients are awake during treatment. For best results, we recommend you abstain from excessive alcohol consumption, dehydration, ultraviolet radiation exposure, and smoking because these activities may lead to collagen breakdown. You can plan to return to your normal activities immediately after your Nightlase treatment.
How will Nightlase help my snoring?
Nightlase is a laser that heats the tissue. As the tissue warms, it tightens, decreasing the sound produced when you snore and the effects of sleep apnea. Nightlase provides, on average, a 50% reduction in snoring.
When should I expect results?
A complete Nightlase treatment includes three 20-minute sessions stretched over six weeks. You should expect to see results immediately, but optimal outcomes are seen after the completion of three treatments. The final result of treatment can last up to a year.
